The 43-bedroom ground floor residential care home was opened in June 2017 and offers residents a far more interactive environment with substantially more choice of communal space than is typically provided in standard care homes. It has been designed around the homes’ working period street scene complete with six real and operational shop fronts, a curiosity shop window display, a central fountain, an original working 1936 phone box and ornamental traditional street lighting.

The working street includes a Victorian style Tea Room, Restaurant, Coffee Shop, Post Office and Newsagents and even a traditional british Pub!

The home provides all ground floor accommodation with a tasteful front lounge arranged in three distinct areas and offers residents a range of different experiences including an American Diner Restaurant, a fully fitted hairdressing salon based on 50’s film stars, a small spa experience for hands and feet treatments including a massage chair. The home even boasts its’ own cinema room and interactive bus journey.

The concept aims to provide residents with a diverse range of interactive environmental experiences to help improve wellbeing, orientation, maintain interest and promote independence.
